Bacon Chocolate Tater Tots
We’ve seen some pretty awesome bacon and tater tot recipes on the Internet, but this recipe tops them all! For the ultimate sweet and savory appetizer or dessert, you can’t go wrong with these chocolate-covered, bacon-wrapped tater tots. We like to call them the Bacon Choco-Tots!
You can use any kind of bacon or chocolate that you prefer. You could even add other ingredients like caramel or nuts and go really wild and crazy with this simple recipe. Because as everyone knows, the sky is the limit where bacon is concerned! And for the naysayers who say chocolate and tots are crazy, don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it. These are scrum-diddly-umptious morsels of bacony goodness. Serve ‘em as a dessert at your next BBQ or dinner party and watch your guests devour them. ‘Cause once you tot, you can’t stop.
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- 1 pound Gourmet Bacon
- 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Toothpicks, soaked in water
Wrap the frozen tater tots with 1/3 to ½ strip of raw bacon and secure with toothpicks that have been soaked in water. Bake for 20 minutes or until bacon is done. When the bacon-wrapped tots have cooled, carefully remove the toothpicks.
Bring about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water to boil in a small pot. Place the chocolate in a medium or large heat-proof bowl. When the water comes to a boil, place the bowl of chocolate on the pot of water and turn the heat of. Stir the chocolates until melted all the way through. Dip each tot in the melted chocolate. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper. When all of the tots are coated, place in the refrigerator to cool for about 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
